Production Notes
Early, light, and exceptional is how the 2015 growing season will be remembered. After three near-perfect yet drought riddled years, 2015 was challenging and inconsistent. Significant rain during February and Apri lencouraged vines to thrive despite drought conditions, yet also created a smaller fruit set. With warm weather in late spring and summer, the reduced crop size of small berries became concentrated and fragrant. Warm temperatures in August and September led to one of the earliest harvests on record, with the reward of low yields and high quality.
Winemaker Notes
Our iconic Sonoma winemaker Don Van Staaveren, honored by Wine Spectator in 2000 for producing the number one wine among its "Top 100 Wines of the World," crafted this elegant Cabernet Sauvignon from the exclusive Anderson Ranch vineyard. Don, who began his career managing vineyards, earned acclaim as winemaker at Chateau St. Jean, Artesa, and Three Sticks wineries.
