The growing season of 2018 proved to be one of the more “typical” in several years, with many predicting it will yield exceptional wines. Mostly moderate temperatures gave way to a long growing season and a relaxed harvest. February saw a bit warmer temperatures, but otherwise Spring was long and cooler than usual leading to an extended bloom. Summer temperatures were moderate with few heat spikes, and even cooling in July, which led to a longer hang time for flavor development and maturation. Harvest was smooth with a mild rain in early October, followed by dry weather and moderate heat.Winemaker Notes
