After four years of drought, the 2016 growing season welcomed winter rains followed by moderate spring temperatures, and a late, heavy rain in April. Throughout the summer, the weather was filled with hallmark warm days and cool nights, with very few heat spikes, creating an evenly paced and somewhat longer growing season than in past years. Cooler temperatures arrived in September, which allowed the grapes a little extra hang time which resulted in full, luscious flavors.Winemaker Notes
